about
Steve London is a multi award-winning composer, whose body of work encompasses over 65 films, TV series, and video games enjoying international distribution and major awards. His best known work includes his award-winning score to the Chet Baker biopic “Born to Be Blue” (starring Ethan Hawke), the cult hit animated Fox TV show, “The Ripping Friends” (from the creator of “Ren & Stimpy”), and the Amazon hit docu-series "Between Black and Blue".
Steve's 'concept-tied-to-story' approach is readily apparent as he traverses musical genres with ease; for the drama/thriller “The Immaculate Room”, starring Kate Bosworth ("Blue Crush"), Emile Hursh ("Wilderness") and Ashley Greene ("Twilight"), Steve created a pristine soundscape that gradually devolved into distortion and anxiety as the story's main relationship disintegrates. His quirky and dark orchestral score to the film "Stockholm" (Blumhouse/eOne) deftly threaded the needle between dark comedy and drama. Steve is also an experienced video game composer whose titles include the award-winning "Halycon 6: Starbase Commander" (Massive Damage), open-world monster hunter "Fera" (Massive Damage/Kowloon Knights") and the critically-acclaimed action/strategy “Star Renegades” (Massive Damage/Raw Fury).
Steve has collaborated with major Hollywood composers including Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL), Christophe Beck ("Frozen"), and top horror composer Christopher Young. As a multi-instrumentalist, Steve also regularly develops and finds new ways to twist traditional acoustic sounds, such as the electronically-processed Vietnamese children’s orchestra that created the resonant emotional textures for the Oscar-nominated documentary “Chau, Beyond the Lines”, or the new horror instrument, the Hell Harp, which is currently in development.
